what DISEASES did the SOLDIERS get
there where many diseases in the trenches in world war 1 like rats ,trench foot, lice and frogs infected the trenches .Rats where everywhere eating the dead bodies that have just died from the war . there were different type of rat's brown and black rats both a bother but the brown rats grown up to the size of a large cat and ate some of the live soldiers while sleeping like eating their eye's fingers anything that they can fit in their mouth . trench foot was a big disease in the trench because the soldiers didn't look after their feet because the could not dry and clean their shoes because they could not leave the trench to hang their shoes .
what were the CONDITIONS in the trenches
The first thing a new recruit would notice on the way to the Front line was the smell, rotting bodies in shallow graves, men who hadn't washed in weeks. Over 200,000 men died in the trenches of WW1, most of who died in battle, but many died from disease and infections brought on by the unsanitary conditions. The cold wet and unsanitary conditions were also to cause trench foot amongst the soldiers, a fungal infection.
